I came across this industrial strength asshat while checking out Crooks and Liars today... and if you haven't heard this, put on some mittens so that your facepalm does no permanent damage.
A pastor named Kevin Swanson, who founded something called "Generations of Visions", an organization that promotes homeschooling worldwide, also hosts a daily radio show called "Generations Radio", and on a recent broadcast decided to show off his own "homeschoolin' " by holding forth with a very odd biology lesson.
Taking the advice of unnamed "doctors" he had spoken with, Swanson told his listeners that women who use birth control pills have "little tiny fetuses, these little babies, that are embedded into the womb" essentially turning their wombs into fetus "graveyards" with "lots and lots of little babies."
I took the link provided and checked out Pastor Swanson's radio website, and there I learned that he proudly claims to have homeschooled himself, and is now homeschooling his own five oh-so-lucky children.
If you take the link you'll have a chance to read some of Swanson's blog, if you're interested. Here's part of his take on the Sandy Hook massacre last December:
Prediction: The homeschooling movement will grow in Connecticut. I was Executive Director of Christian Home Educators of Colorado during the Columbine shootings, and home education inquiries increased 50% during the six months following the shootings.
4. When children are taught not to fear God in public schools, some will turn into monsters. Why should children respect the law? Why should children respect the commandment “Thou shalt not kill?” Why should children honor their parents, or refrain from killing their parents, if they do not fear the God who wrote that law in stone?
6. The government-imposed control of all guns, baseball bats, fertilizer, knives, finger nail files, etc. will not solve these problems.
In other words, the solution to school shootings is to bring your kids home and teach them your own version of reality, including some very curious information concerning contraception and women's reproductive systems. My guess is this guy's kids will know a lot more about his spin on particular Bible verses than they'll ever grasp about biology. God help 'em...
Wonder how he explains all those little tombstones and crosses in women's wombs? Must be pure hell installing those things...

We have our share of looney's in Colorado too.
One Fly, the loonies seem to be all over the place these days- we have our own homegrown froot-loop in New Mexico who introduced a bill to prohibit abortions in cases of rape because that would be destroying evidence. Was this country always this crazy, or am I only imagining that things have gotten worse lately?
I saw that Cynthianne. You're not imagining a thing. There's always been some of these but not at this level.
I think too part of it is Big Whore Media promotes this shit and it's also easier for people like this to promote themselves without cost.
It more too because the population has increased so much as well. The human being is a different breed of cat for sure.
This is why I'll never support homeschooling as an educational option for average people. Instead of learning from trained professionals, interacting with other kids (sometimes of different ethnic backgrounds), and being exposed to new thoughts, new people, new concepts, is fundamental to a good education. This idiot is teaching his children himself, after self-teaching himself.
It's like putting a model plane together without the directions, then proclaiming yourself a pilot.
Someone should do testing of homeschoolers in about a dozen years to see how many of them enter their adult lives in this kind of reality free universe.
Maybe he "home-schooled" himself because he got tired of riding the short bus!!
